Politehnica University of Bucharest (U.P.B.) takes on the mission to train specialists in different technical fields, able to use valuable scientific, technical and cultural-humanistic knowledge in order to contribute to the technological, economic and social-cultural progress of the Romanian society and the contemporary world. U.P.B. ensures to provide a performant education system, developed and refurbished through complex research activity, continuing the tradition of the Bucharest Polytechnic School, according to the exigencies and means offered by the modern information society.

It aims to create a new technical university profile, one that promotes training adapted to the requirements of a competitive society subject to the process of integration with the European and International Community. Its main mission is training engineers that are capable of adapting to the requirements of the economy and new technologies, while also having acquired economic and managerial knowledge. Nonetheless, they must also promote the principles of sustainable development and environmental protection. In order to do so, they must be formed according to the modern principle of direct participation in choosing their formative trajectory, while also being included in a learning process that will offer them real chances to compete on the free labor market.
